2008 - Top Honours at the ActionScript.Awards.IV

At the ActionScript.Awards.IV presentation ceremony on 1 October 2008, Justin Ou Yang Yan Jun won the Gold award and Soon Kim Choon won the Silver award for their flash games which conveyed how we could be more environmentally conscious.

The ActionScript Awards are part of the National Infocomm Competition (NIC) which is a multi-themed inter-school challenge created to engage and groom top infocomm talent in Singapore.

The competition required participants to create an interactive storybook using Adobe Flash ActionScript™ based on the theme ‘Go Green’.

Both Justin and Kim Choon, 3rd year students with the Diploma in Internet & Multimedia Development (now known as Interactive Media Informatics), prepared for the competition by reading countless articles about the consequences our actions have on the environment.

The competition was intense and Kim Choon shared that he felt a great sense of achievement after developing his flash game. “I got to see the different games produced by students from other polytechnics and by professional people. The quality of their work is really inspiring. I’ve gained a lot of experience during this competition and I strongly encourage students to join such events as they provide an enriching experience.”
