Comprising of 2 categories - Tertiary and Junior College (JC) - this competition focuses on general computing concepts and applications of algorithms and is open to the 5 polytechnics, 3 universities and 15 JCs in Singapore.
After competing with NUS, NTU and the 4 other polytechnics in 3 intensive rounds of competition, Temasek Polytechnic came in as 2nd runner-up overall in the Tertiary category. NUS won the top prize and NP came in as 1st runner-up.
Led by Yeo Chai Heng Clivant, together with members Toh Teng Hui, Ng Wee Hua and Wong Wei Fong, our winning team came from the Diploma in Internet Computing course.
Spread over a period of 1 month, the 3 rounds of competition tested the participating teams in different aspects of computing. Round 1 of the competition consisted of a written paper with questions on programming algorithms and IT-related general knowledge questions, while Round 2 required the teams to solve programming problems using Java or C++. The finalists in Round 3 also had to answer much more difficult questions on algorithms and IT knowledge.
Congratulations to the team!
